I spent four years on the reconciliation side of a payments team before I wrote a word about this industry. That is the gap I write about. Not whether an operator is trustworthy, which I cannot verify, but what its offer actually costs to clear and whether the number in the advert still matches the number in the table.
I will not call an operator safe. I do not know that, and neither does anyone quoting a licence number at you. I will not quote a bonus figure I cannot trace to a source I can name, which is why some cells on our comparison tables are empty rather than estimated. And I will not describe an offer as generous before dividing it by its playthrough.
